Sun Lakes Fire is Testing for FF!
Sun Lakes Fire is establishing an Eligibility List for Firefighter.
Applications Open on January 31st, 2012 at 1000 and will be limited to 50 applications. Applications must be turned in by February 24th, 2012 by 1500. You can pick them up at the front office of Station 232 located at 25020 S. Alma School Rd.

| 962 Cooper & Riggs |
Sunday afternoon, January 15th Station 232 and BC231 responded to a 2 vehicle 962. The blue pickup was a historical vehicle and did not have seatbelts and the 2 men were ejected. There was a 7 year old child in the back seat of the Suburban who was treated by Engine 232 and taking to Scottsdale Osborn.

| Congrats Brent Kohl! |
We would like to congratulate and welcome our newest Firefighter Brent Kohl! He graduated from the 13 week Firefighter Recruit academy on December 30th 2011. Brent starts his first day on the truck January 3rd 2012. He will be assigned to A-Shift Station 231 under Captain John McBride. Congratulations from Local 3560 on your hard work throughout the last 13 weeks.

Early Saturday evening on December 10th A-Shift crews from both stations were dispatched to a working house fire near Alma School and Sandpiper.

Early Morning House Fire Tears through New Home
At 5 a.m. Thursday Morning A- Shift crews were dispatched to a Structure Fire near Alma School and Ocotillo. Engine 232 was first to arrive on scene and found the house to be a new construction and unoccupied fully involved. The decision was made to go defensive and crews pulled a 2 1/2" line to the West side for fire attack as well as to protect the home to its West. Engine 231 was 3rd to arrive and pulled another 2 1/2" line off of Engine 232 and went to the South side of the structure for fire attack. Crews had the fire under control in about 30 min. The cause of this fire is still under investigation.

The snow birds will be here soon as well as flu season. Make sure you get your flu shots and take the proper BSI precautions on EMS calls. Remember the #1 way to stop the spread of disease is to wash your hands.
